Founders

Mariuccia Teroni

Chair & Deputy CEO

Expert in publishing techniques and information treatment with an extensive career in pioneering digital technologies for the publishing world. She was Adjunct Professor of Multimedia Publishing laboratories at the University of Milan and she is currently Adjunct Professor at the Master in Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the University of Pavia in cooperation with FacilityLive. She is author of technical books that are adopted in prestigious Italian universities and journalism schools and speaker at conferences and seminars on academic and business topics. Together with Gianpiero Lotito, she is the Founder of FacilityLive.

From 2014 to 2015 Mariuccia was Digital Icon of Watify – Stimulating Digital Entrepreneurship and from 2014 to 2016 she was Ambassador and Digital Icon of e-Skills for Jobs (two projects under the Grand Coalition for Digital Jobs of the EU Commission).

In 2015 she received the Gold Medal of the city of Pavia for her commitment and contribution to technology innovation and she was selected as one of the four Successful Women Web Entrepreneurs by a project of the European Commission.

From 2015 to 2018 she was Sector Representative in the board of Pavia’s Industrial Association.

In 2016 she was appointed VP for Digital Society of ANITEC (Italian Industrial Association of Digital Companies and Board Member of DIGITALEUROPE) and in 2017 she became also Deputy Chairman of the association until the merging of ANITEC with Assinform in September 2017.

Since October 2017 she has been Member of the General Council of ANITEC- Assinform.

Since 2016 she has been Member of the Advisory Board of MIBE (Master in International Business and Entrepreneurship of Pavia University).

From 2017 to 2018 she was Ambassador of Watify – Boosting Technological Transformation: the project of the EU Commission for the modernisation of Europe’s industry.

In 2018 she was appointed Member of the Board of Pavia’s Industrial Association for 2018 and 2019.

In 2019 she became a member of the Advisory Board of STEAMiamici, an Assolombarda’s project for the diffusion of digital skills.

In 2020, after to the merger by incorporation between Assolombarda and Confindustria Pavia, she became Member of the Committee of the Pavia branch of Assolombarda.

Gianpiero Lotito

CEO

Expert technologist with an extensive career in pioneering digital technologies for the publishing world. He was Adjunct Professor of Multimedia Publishing at the University of Milan and he is currently Adjunct Professor at the Master in Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the University of Pavia in cooperation with FacilityLive. He wrote books and articles on technology for major Italian editors like Bruno Mondadori, Sperling and Gruppo Espresso. Together with Mariuccia Teroni, he is the Founder of FacilityLive.

From 2014 to 2016 Gianpiero was Ambassador of e-Skills for Jobs: a project under the Grand Coalition for Digital Jobs of the European Commission.

In 2015 he received the Gold Medal of the city of Pavia for his commitment and contribution to technology innovation and for the decision in 2013 of not moving FacilityLive to the Silicon Valley after having obtained patents in 39 countries of the world, keeping therefore the company in the territory where it was born.

In 2016 he was the Innovative Entrepreneur that the Italian Minister for Economic Development chose to represent Italy at the European Council for Competitiveness held in Amsterdam.

From 2017 to 2018 he was Ambassador of Watify – Boosting Technological Transformation: the project of the EU Commission for the modernisation of Europe’s industry.

On October 2nd 2018 he was the first Italian non-politician invited to speak at the General Assembly of the United Nations in the last 20 years with a speech entitled “Technology and peace”.

On December 19th 2018 he was appointed as the new President of the European Tech Alliance.

In 2019 he received the Heraclea Award for distinguishing himself in Italy and abroad as a Lucanian excellence.

On December 12th 2019 he was reconfirmed President of the European Tech Alliance for the second consecutive year of mandate.

In 2020 he was nominated by the European Commission as one of the European Ambassadors of the #EUvsVirus pan-European Hackathon thanks to FacilityLive’s strong commitment to the fight against COVID-19 via European digital tech.
