The European Tech Alliance Presidency

At the end of 2018 FacilityLive strengthens its position at European level: on December 19th Gianpiero Lotito succeeds to Niklas Zennström, Skype co-founder, to the presidency of the European Tech Alliance (EUTA), of which FacilityLive is among the five founding members.

On December 12th 2019 Gianpiero is re-elected President of EUTA for the second consecutive year of mandate. “The world needs a strong Europe in digital to be balanced” said Gianpiero.

Here is an excerpt from the greeting contained in the EUTA Storybook 2019.

“Europe is a greenfield of opportunities for tech companies. The EUTA can support their growth by feeding a continuous dialogue with the policymakers and pushing them to set the conditions for the creation of a European Technology Industry. After many years as a follower, Europe can emerge stronger than ever. Europe must create a common solution to foster innovation and encourage the growth of “Made in Europe” tech companies. Policymakers must understand that the digital industry has a central role in today’s world and that they need to grow it like the other strategic industries of the continent, like the US and the Far East do. This is the only way to have a balance and to become truly competitive in Europe.”

I am delighted to spend all my enthusiasm to represent the most innovative voices with a global vision that we have in Europe. After many years as a follower, Europe is back as a magnet for innovative tech companies. Despite some political uncertainty, it is clear that the European digital industry is a strong force and will become stronger in the coming years. The technology sector will emerge stronger than ever
